For the first time since they were published, you can now read the full text of these important reports online.

The documents are presented as text, so they are searchable (using your web browser's Find facility), and copiable.

Revision of the Texts: 2009

When I first put most of these documents online I did not include individual page numbers from the printed versions. Several readers have asked for these so that they can be included in references. In June, therefore, I began revising the texts to include page numbers.

I am also improving the authenticity of the texts by (1) restoring some capitalisation which I had previously removed, and (2) by amending the formatting (bold, italics, centred etc) so that what you see here is now a reasonably accurate representation of the printed page. (However, please note that the pages presented here are not exact facsimiles of the original printed version: the font - Times, Arial etc - and size of print - and therefore the number of words to a line and lines to a page - are determined by the settings you have chosen for your web browser).

I am working through the documents in chronological order. So far I have completed the reports down to and including Volume 1 of the 1967 Plowden Report. I'm currently working on Plowden Volume 2 - a long job!
